Once PVC and rubber flooring arrive, do not stack them outdoors or by vents. Let them lie flat on site for 24-48 hours so the material temperature matches the room, preventing post-install expansion and shrinkage. Autumn air is dry - do not leave sheets bare for long, or edges lose moisture and contract.
Autumn brings less rain, but subfloors and walls often still hold leftover moisture from the rainy season - the surface looks dry while the inside remains wet. Before installation, test subfloor moisture with a moisture meter: PVC flooring requires under 4.5% moisture content, and rubber flooring even lower. Never trust a visual "it looks dry". Installing above spec moisture almost guarantees bubbling later.
Autumn air dries adhesive faster than summer, but early bond strength is still unstable. Within 72 hours after installation: do not drag heavy loads across the floor, do not allow heavy foot traffic, and do not do initial cleaning early. Keep doors and windows moderately ventilated, but do not let drafts blow directly on the fresh floor - overly fast adhesive drying weakens the bond.
